Learn the xylophone note order
From C to the next C, the natural-note sequence is C–D–E–F–G–A–B–C. E to F and B to C are half steps; the other neighboring natural notes are whole steps. The bar length becomes shorter as pitch rises because shorter resonators vibrate faster.
Simple virtual xylophone exercises
Play C–D–E–D–C, then transpose the same contour to D–E–F–E–D. Next, alternate C and G to hear a perfect fifth, and C and the upper C to hear an octave.
